Aube AI ("we", "our", or "us") provides an AI-powered customer support widget for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our application and services.
2. Information We Collect
From Shopify merchants
- Shop domain, name, and contact email via Shopify OAuth
- Product catalog, order details, and store policies — used solely to power AI responses
- Subscription and billing information processed by Stripe
From end customers (shoppers)
- Conversation messages submitted through the chat widget
- Order lookup inputs (order number, email) provided voluntarily
- No cookies or tracking pixels are placed on shoppers
3. How We Use Information
- To generate accurate AI responses using your store data
- To display conversation history in the merchant dashboard
- To send escalation email alerts to merchants
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To improve the reliability and quality of our service
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- Google Gemini — AI model used to generate responses (subject to Google's data processing terms)
- Stripe — payment processing
- Google Cloud — infrastructure hosting (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL)
All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements and are prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
5. Data Retention
Conversation data is retained for 90 days by default. Merchants may request deletion of all data at any time by contacting us. Upon account cancellation, all merchant and conversation data is deleted within 30 days.
6. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel. We do not store plain-text credentials.
7. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Uninstall the app to immediately stop data collection

8. Shopify Data Requirements
Aube AI complies with the Shopify API Terms of Service and the Shopify Partner Program Agreement. We only request the minimum API scopes necessary to deliver our service.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify merchants by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
